Overview
“Let’s get it over with!”
A few words that sum up the ending of any opera… tragically, rarely optimistically. After much suffering and many twists and turns, in any case!
The Quatuor Anches Hantées’ “Opera Without a Diva” is, for its part, gently drawing to a close.
While not quite finishing off the divas it has teased but admired for the past eight years, the QAH is now concluding its exploration! Its three-act opera, begun in 2019, is coming to an end; the curtain is falling.
Without anticipating possible encores—though hoping for them, given the wealth of operatic material he has to perform—the QAH delves once again into the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries for this work, creating a musical narrative, an imaginary opera where kings, queens, and mermaids encounter dandies and ordinary people, from near and far.
