Overview
After a series of musical mishaps, the children are invited to reflect: Why isn’t it working? How do musicians usually manage to play together?
Did they arrange the piece properly? Could it be that someone is missing to perform this quartet the right way?
Who plays the lightning melody? Who plays the thunder? How do musicians perform chamber music without a conductor?
And why does Sarah have superpowers?
The Quatuor Anches Hantées presents a real concert built around a program that spans different eras and styles — featuring works by Strauss, Brahms, Hellmesberger, Peirani, Wajnberg, and more.
Just as they do with general audiences, they introduce the pieces and instruments in a simple and engaging way.
One piece recalls a musical, another evokes a dance, a sailor caught in a storm, and a whole range of quirky sounds that can come out of a wooden tube. Once the scene is set, they begin to share the inner workings and secrets behind the quartet and chamber music.
